Vitalism is a philosophy where living organisms contain an element (i.e. energy, vital spark, soul, organizing intelligence) that non-living entities do not. Vitalists would argue that the living organism is much greater than the sum of its parts. A mechanistic approach has denied an organizing intelligence in all living things. They would argue if something cannot be measured or quantified, it does not exist. For most of human history, all of the world’s healing approaches and methods have recognized the body’s Innate ability to heal itself, with the only exception being western allopathic medicine.
As a Vitalistic Chiropractor, one of the most rewarding outcomes of my work is when my clients actually experience the interface between their body and the energy fields and feel commonly unfelt. If a picture is worth a thousand words, an imbodied experience is worth a thousand times that. We all contain within us the blueprint of wholeness. We were endowed with this by our creator. We seem to be moving further away from this truth and becoming more reliant on outside drugs and technology to fix what ails us.
